Hi,
I wanted to see if i understand this situation correctly. I current have service through AT&T Wireless using a B B8310 which I am using Telenav's software. The BB8310 is listed as supported equipment on the Telenav website. About three weeks ago I upgraded to the HTC Fuze and the phone after downloading the "Telenav" software didn't work even though it said AT&T Navigator compatible. I have used both AT&T's the version and Telenav's version of the software and prefer Telenav's version over AT&T 100:1.
Here is the question. If the equipment is not listed under the carrier's name on the Telenav website, will Telenav Navigator software run properly using that equipment (i.e. HTC Fuze)? Also, if you are not on a month to month contract, do you need to make sure that if you switch providers that Telenav has the same equipment is listed under the new provider? |

Hello,
NO, Telenav version will not run and isn’t compatible with the HTC FUZE, only AT&T Navigator version is available for this device. To answer your 2nd question, yes, you would want to make sure that the provider does have a supported device listed on our website. Hopefully I answered all of your questions, please let me know if you have any addition questions.

Thanks for verifying the information.
Please try and keep the equipment list up to date. For example, on the main page it is listed that the IPhone is now compatible. In the AT&T equipment list it is not listed. |

Very Welcome, on our telenav.com website, the list looks to be up to date. If what you were mentioning was on AT&T's website, unfortunately we don’t have control of there website.

I know that it is not officially supported -- but I don't think for Windows Mobile devices there is much of an issue.
I currently have an HTC S743 (Rose) which is an unlocked handset that no carrier sells, but it is Windows Mobile. Telenav 5.5.23 is running just fine on this device.
You can go to http://ota.telenav.com/otadownload/ and try to find phones that are somewhat similar (My phone is windows mobile 6.1 non-touch screen, I downloaded telenav for Sprint Samsung Ace)
The download site is: http://ota.telenav.com/otadownload/
While I understand TeleNav doesn't want to sell a service they can't garantee works (and they can't do that unless they have tested the exact phone... carrier customization and all) but at the very least they could give generic versions of the software for use "at your own risk" |
